My goal for my classroom is to build a community of learners that are eager to learn and share, have confidence, and are willing to take chances. We gather every morning to share a morning message and build community. Throughout the day we come together for lessons in reading and writing. We read stories and poems and sing together. By having an easel, I would be able to display charts, songs, reading passages and writing examples for my students. In return they would be able to come up and share their thoughts and ideas with their classmates.
This project will help my students build confidence and become independent learners. As each student becomes more confident and excited in what they have created or learned they can use the easel to present their completed work to the class.
As each student grows in their ability to read and write, they can take their learning a step farther and become the teacher to their classmates as they use their new easel.
