Middle school is a challenging time for everybody, a twilight period between childhood and young adulthood, in between elementary and high school, and most of my special education students struggle more than most. My students are using technology in their general education classrooms, but I'm limited to paper and pencil when I work with them outside of class. Switching back and forth between technology and paper adds another challenging layer to the academic struggle.
My goal is to empower my students to be confident learners who are prepared for high school. Providing Chromebooks for use in my classroom will make the transition from general education to remediation more seamless and will also expand the tools my students are able to access. Empowered learners have greater confidence and a much better chance of succeeding in future endeavors.
