The students at King-Chavez come from a low income neighborhood where 100 percent of the students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of the students come into kindergarten unable to recognize letters or read and often do not have the resources to be able to read at home in order to better their reading abilities.
Even though my students have many factors working against them, they are enthusiastic learners that deserve to be provided with resources to help them succeed!
At King Chavez we are committed as a community to work together to provide the best learning environment for our students. Through high expectations and strong home-school connection we help our students achieve academics and emotional success. My students are hard workers and truly want to be in school.
