Every day my students come to school eager to do their best and learn as much as they can. Unfortunately, some of life's difficulties get in the way of their learning. When they have family struggles at home, problems with peers, are dealing with death, have feelings of anger, or struggling with paying attention and studying, they do not know how to handle these problems at such a young age. The students may be coming to school hungry because their family cannot afford food. They may be embarrassed because they do not have new or clean clothes to wear. They may not have the skills to help them deal with bullies. Yet they still come to school every day because they know their teachers and the school staff truly care about them. The teachers at my school give their all to make sure each and every student receives the assistance they need in order to learn and be successful. It is my job to support the students, staff and families so that the students receive the best possible education.
