I am teaching at a new elementary (K-4) school that just opened in August 2014. Most of my students have come from previous elementary schools within our district. My students live in a large school district, but because most of our community's houses are in the country we still feel as though we are in a small town. No matter where you go in town, you are bound to see someone you know. Even within the first few days of school I can tell that my students are excited to be together in this new environment, and are open and willing to try new things. I am looking forward to capitalizing on the excitement that has been generated by the new school.
