I counsel high school students who are on an IEP or 504 Plan. I strive to prepare my students for the rigors of the real world and teach them coping skills so they are better able to navigate their way through life post-high school. The students I counsel vary from those with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, ADHD, Autism, ODD, ED, and beyond.
Not only do I teach my students social & coping skills, I also give them a soft place to land when things get tough.
A lot of my students benefit from quiet fidget tools. These are self-regulation tools that help with focus, attention, calming, and active listening. These can be stress balls, silly puddy, playdough, bendable pens, magnets, chenille stems, etc. They come in all different shapes, sizes, and textures and are often referred to by various different names. I purchase these and other supplies that assist my students in being as successful as possible.
