The math materials will help supplement my instruction to help my students who learn in many different ways and at different levels. The math games will help my students to be able to see learning math can be fun and engaging. The informational texts will help to provide my students with cultural and historical knowledge in other fun and engaging ways. Increasing reading skills, benefits all other areas of study. If my students can feel like they are having fun while learning, they will be more likely to pay attention, and retain the new information they are learning. The picture on this project shows my students learning Mean, Medium & Mode through an interactive project.
Giving low-income students the opportunity to learn and grow to their full potential with these fun and engaging learning materials is a great aspect of teaching! Increasing their math skills and reading skills, will help build a stronger foundation for our students to be better prepared for high school, college, and all of their endeavors in the work place.
It definitely takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a community to educate them and provide them the tools they will need to be productive in their lives; therefore, I am asking for our community to help support these children by providing a little extra to help them on their way.
