My students are the youngest at our school - 3 years old! They are sweet, adorable and capable of so much more than most people would think.
The kids are very independent. They come in, hang up their own coat and bookbag, take a breakfast, open packaged and begin eating.
We do the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the school song.
Then we go over our schedule for the day and talk about the weather.
I read a story related to a monthly topic we are covering. Then we do a group activity - paint, color, etc.
After that, we break out into centers. The kids can freely select from the following: library, art, writing, music, sand/ water table, kitchen area, puppets, blocks/construction, math/ games and more.
After our center work, we do our gross motor movement. We walk stairs, go on tricycles, jump on a trampoline, crawl through a tunnel, play circle games, and more.
Then we get ready for lunch and rest.
