The Elementary students of today are the problem solvers of the future! My school is located in beautiful Oregon and like most public school districts we have suffered from major budget cuts and rising class sizes the last several years. We have also seen the implementation of the Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. This year I moved from teaching 4th grade to a 5/6 split classroom. This means the need for new, grade appropriate materials. I have 25 wonderful fifth and 6th graders in my class. 9 - 12 year olds are excited to learn! They want to dig in and discover, not just read out of textbooks. They want to engage in technology and current literature. With your help, we can bring our classroom materials up to date and keep my students inspired to learn and grow.
