I teacher Literature 1 in Trenton, New Jersey. In Literature 1, my students learn to THINK--to think about literature, to think how to express their understanding (verbally, in writing, and through art), to think how to use literature as a springboard to success in every context. My students, who are primarily from low-income African American and Hispanic families, are vibrant and inquisitive. They bring their experiences and cultures into every discussion thereby teaching me something new every day. I LOVE my job because of my students.
