I am a counselor at a large, urban high school serving 2200 students. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and all of our students have aspirations to find post-secondary success. At our school, 15.6% of our students are black/African American. We want to have an info session where we can introduce students to these amazing academic institutions.
In conversations with students in our 11th and 12th grade last week, I learned that many of these students have not had any exposure to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. My goal is to help them learn more about those options this year. We want our minority students to be aware of all of the opportunities out there and with your donations we will be able to have an eventful information session for parents and student.
