"Fair isn't everybody getting the same thing. Fair is everybody getting what they need in order to be successful."
I teach 22 inquisitive, enthusiastic kindergarteners in a diverse community in San Francisco, California. My class consists of Black, Hispanic, and Asisan students and 70% of them are socio-economically disadvantaged. My students come to school excited to learn and challenge themselves to grow. I see myself in my students because they have the same love and excitement when they listen to books read aloud, especially books that they can relate to.
