The social skills learned in the PRIDE program help our students to be more successful in the general ed classroom and ensure that they are able to build a foundation for lifelong learning.
Game based learning gives educators the ability to use students' in-game actions to assess the students skills and knowledge, including those not easily learned or measured by traditional lessons. The board games in our project will help our students learn necessary skills such natural consequences, accepting responsibility for their actions, appropriate social boundaries, identifying emotions, appropriately communicating how they feel, complying with authority, and maintaining health relationships. The clipboards, ink, timers, cardstock, and lamination supplies will allow us to create specific and unique tools and games for our students so we can focus on their individual needs.
