My job is to ensure my classroom is an exceptional place to learn. I ensure this by building supportive, positive relationships in a culture of academic excellence. This elementary school is one of 2 elementary schools that serve a military base, so a high percentage of the students are connected to the military. This creates a high turn over rate as well as parents who are deployed. In addition, there is an international presence with students from Italy, Greece and other allied nations. My students are eager for hands-on learning that allows them to explore the classroom in fun ways! As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I want to make learning fun and interesting.
