We are a vibrant, blended learning math lab where 6, 7 and 8th grade mathematicians work for 90min blocks each day. We have two cohorts of 27 students in each grade.
Our students are mostly first or second generation immigrants from Central America and Mexico. A significant portion are English language learners and many are newcomers who have arrived in the past year. We are committed to creating a safe yet rigorous learning space where our students can work on personalized lessons at their own pace. We believe that when students feel seen and cared for that they can show tremendous growth in short amounts of time.
Our hope for the coming year is to provide students more choice. Physically this means we want more flexible seating options in the classroom. Academically it means students have opportunities to document their learning through audio/video presentations.
