Hi, thanks for caring about kids and considering the kids in my class worthy of your consideration. I teach Language Arts, Science, Math, Art, Music and Physical Education in a low-income Title I public school in Redding California. Our school is 50% high poverty families. After 23 years teaching and learning with kids I have a reputation of providing many creative out of the box learning experiences for my students. On any given day, if you stopped by you might find us painting, cooking, building, inventing things, singing, or drumming math problems. One example is how I include music across the curriculum, with songs about math, musicals and recitals. Another example is the annual pie and poetry recital we put on every year. The students make pie and that evening the recite their favorite poem to family and friends. I believe that fine arts MUST be part of learning and that LEARNING SHOULD BE FUN.
