I am requesting some basic classroom supplies to support my Spanish classroom. I plan on using these supplies to incorporate more exposure to Spanish-speaking cultures through arts and crafts. The paper rolls will give life to body vocabulary when students create and label their own life-size body posters. Colored pencils will allow students to practice their color vocabulary through color-by-number projects. Pencils will ensure every student is ready to complete assignments while in class. Tissue wrapping paper and stems will allow students to make flowers for Day of the Dead and pinatas for Cinco de Mayo. Glue sticks will bring all of these materials together for presentation. Construction paper will allow students to make la Flor de la Nochebuena, also known as the Christmas Eve flower or poinsettia. Alphabet flash cards will reinforce their knowledge of the Spanish alphabet. Motivational posters will allow students to see the language in action and provide positive messages for the classroom. And finally, yarn will be used to create God's Eyes.
Arts and crafts projects are an important way to incorporate culture in the Spanish classroom. Having access to these materials will allow opportunities for students to express themselves artistically and help motivate students who prefer to demonstrate their learning through art.
