I am asking for a variety of LEGOs including the Around the World set, two sets of the Deluxe Box of fun, the LEGO Town Big Farm, and the LEGO Cafe. When this project is funded, I will scaffold conversations between peers building vocabulary regarding the LEGOs; for example: "what is that animal?, where do you think they live?, what do they eat?, what are the babies like?."
Attention maintenance will be extended on a daily basis while exploring with the LEGOs. The first day my children will be able to build for 15 minutes increasing the time by 5 minutes each day until they are deeply engaged which will be evident by the conversations taking place. Their hands will be strengthened and be more appropriate for Kindergarten writing and keyboarding. Pulling and maneuvering the blocks will get easier over time.
If you cannot pay attention, have a conversation, and be able to have strong fingers for keyboarding, the 21st century learner will struggle going into the work force.
Lifelong skills are my goal.
