Walk into the 6th grade class at South Lake Elementary S.T.E.A.M School of Choice and you might hear the lively and exuberant bustle of students working together on engineering design challenges that demonstrate learning.
Living on the Space Coast of Florida, Aerospace engineering is a major part of this community as NASA is located in this area. Students can see rocket launches, tour NASA facilities, and stroll through a rocket garden at Kennedy Space Center. It is not only motivating, but exciting to see a rocket launch and want to be a part of designing and building of rockets.
Our goal is to is to create an environment where learning is collaborative and project-based; kids work closely together in a hands-on way to solve real-world problems. While we have the want and motivation, we are looking for ways to raise funds to put an Aerospace Engineering lab in our school for students to work and learn.
