These materials will open up a window into a world that my students seldom get to see in an urban setting. As we are learning about body systems in our science class, they will get to see those systems developing in baby chicks in real time. This will make for a tangible representation of a real life phenomenon.
As the eggs incubate and hatch, students will be able to watch them grow and develop and relate that experience directly to the content we are learning in class. Students will be responsible for the chicks as they feed them, give them water and change their bedding. These materials will give the students the technology to interact with and learn about the growth and development of body systems in such a meaningful way.
