Our classroom is filled with 12 vibrant students, one passionate teacher, and seven amazing paraprofessionals, who work tirelessly to ensure that we all have the adequate support to reach self-actualization. We are a 12:1:4 program in a District 75 school which provides citywide educational, vocational, and behavior support programs for students like us!
6 of us utilize a wheelchair throughout the school day, and the other half of us are ambulatory students-- but we all have multiple disabilities and very unique needs. Many of us are non-verbal and engage with sensory materials daily. We like to sort, eye-gaze, match, and interact with technology. Seeing and touching are so important to us!
We all hope to have equal access to learning and hope that we can work together to acquire the necessary tools to be effective learners and members of society!
