This is my 12th year as a special education teacher in an urban, inner-city high school. My students all have moderate to severe special needs. We are a self-contained life skills classroom that focuses on vocational skills, functional academics, daily living skills and accessing/safety in the community. My students face challenges both in and out of the classroom and lack the materials and resources needed to reach their potential.
