Students CAN enjoy coming to school! Part of what makes science class fun for my students is the hands on learning they get and the choices they are offered. When my students have the choice to work where they feel more comfortable and productive, they are excited about the work at hand and are therefore more engaged. Currently, students can work standing at lab benches, sitting on stable stools, on the floor with a clipboard or at a coffee table. These Hokki stools would provide another seating choice for my students who would like a bit more mobility during our classes.
I want to ensure that the classroom environment is a benefit and not a hinderance to education. The greatest thing I can do to support my students is to provide them with choices that suit their differing needs. I remember being uncomfortable in school, just sitting in a chair. This deeply impacted my ability to stay focused during class. Transforming my classroom into one that embraces flexible seating will allow the focus of our class to be on learning rather than physical discomforts. Thank you so much for considering this project in your donations.
