The materials I chose are hydroponic tower garden starter kits. I chose these materials to help add to our science curriculum to expand the children's knowledge on how plants grow. Using the tower gardens will allow children to plant their own food and be able to see a faster results.
The children will be able to observe photosynthesis more efficiently since the garden will be in their classroom. The materials will open up the children's minds to explore more in their own communities and maybe encourage others to garden in their neighborhoods or their home.
My kindergarteners will be using the tower gardens during our after school program. This will be apart of my healthy children's snack piece that I use for my science component. The children will learn the basics of of how plants grow and gardening. The children will practice skills they are taught during the day as leaders. They will also increase their awareness of where their food comes from and what it is meant by having fresh fruits and vegetables.
