The majority of our students come from families living in high poverty. Most speak a language other than English at home, and many will be the first in their families to graduate from high school.
McKay High School is a special place to work because the culture of our school is one of support and camaraderie, because of, not in spite of, these barriers. Our students know that a high school diploma is essential to break the cycle of poverty. We have a goal - to graduate high school ready for college or a career. We're going to get there together, and nothing can stop us.
