I currently work at a Title I school in the most diverse neighborhood in Queens. My school services Pre-K through 8th grade and our students' needs vary considerably. We cater to a high ENL population and provide services for student with disabilities. Currently, our students face many challenges in their lives and when they walk into the classroom, I want them to have a level playing field so they can compete with their peers in the richer suburban areas. Therefore, I must find ways to close the learning gaps and make them successful to compete in the 21st century, with those who have multiple opportunities and resources available to them.
