These supplies will help re-launch a School Media Center that hasn't been active for nearly two years due to COVID-19. I, as a School Media Specialist, will attempt to attract our students to the revitalized hub of exploration and scholarship with the requested supplies. The library will be a place our 3k- 8th-grade students will come to find resources needed for projects and books for enjoyment. My aim is to create a space that is welcoming and attractive while fostering learning and inclusivity for our students and their families. Many in-school and after-school programming will be conducted in the space in including read- alouds, book talks, and book clubs. With these materials, students will also have the opportunity to work independently and in groups (if safety measures permit).
The Cricut will help me continuously create new and innovative displays and projects to promote reading. Reading incentives like stickers and pencils are just just a few items to entice students. These supplies will also assist me when hosting class visits and instructing library lessons space. I also plan to host ongoing opportunities for parents and the entire school community. The revamped space will encourage inquiry and literacy and will be a pillar of multidiscipline instruction. This project will only help enrich their experiences in this revitalized space.
