Our second graders learn in many different ways. Some are tactile or visual learners while others need to write things down. Whatever their learning modality is, they need to be ready for the twenty-first century. While technology is not the only way to learn, it is an important part of the learning experience. With your generous donation, our students would be given this wonderful opportunity. The Osmo attaches to an iPad and allows the students to creatively work with numbers, words, tangrams and coding using technology. It reinforces basic skills as well as developing twenty-first century skills. The Osmo works 鈥渨ith reflective artificial intelligence, a groundbreaking technology that bridges the real and digital realms.鈥 The students actually interact with the iPad using manipulatives including numbers, letters, tangrams and more. When coding, there are blocks that they arrange in a specific order to make objects move on the iPad. Students will be able to learn at their own speed and will gain confidence in themselves. The benefit of an experience with the Osmo will be a positive one.
