My class is a very diverse class . They attend a small public school located in Oakland ,California. There are a mixture of learning levels in my class with performing far below grade level. Yet, they are a very spirited. Due the social, economic, and family issues, many are achieving far below their potential.
The school is designed to strongly encourage students to attend college. In our school, we are setting the ground work for families and students to set higher education as their goal and that only through higher education will they see success.
Most important, the school strives to make students see that they can do great things and nothing is impossible without hard work, diligence and reshaping the thoughts of families and students. Crime and poverty are a situation, not a condition. We believe in are students. We believe in our families.
