My students currently only have standard desks but they require different areas to read and write either independently or with a partner. I chose four bean bag chairs to help students chose a different seat in my classroom. In addition, I chose a four pack of cushions that can be moved to various parts of the classroom. My bilingual students would benefit having a quiet place to read silently or to a partner. I chose two sets of wire shelves to place my existing classroom library that currently are in bins or storage boxes. Having books readily available to them in a quiet place will aide them in practicing their English reading and writing skills. A classroom library or reading nook will be so beneficial to engaging my students to want to read and learn. In addition, I chose a set of twelve dry erase boards so my students can use them in a variety of settings. This project would help me provide my students with the freedom to choose a quiet area to engage in their learning journey and have the freedom to chose where they feel most comfortable.
