Many of my students do not have access to computers or internet at home. Some students' at-home devices were destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Harvey last year. The limited availability of computers in our school restricts my classes' ability to access digital information that can help make learning more relevant and engaging for them.
Computer access allows students to engage in individualized lessons, research and complete projects, such as science fair entries. By having computers available in the classroom, my students will be afforded academic learning opportunities that would otherwise be difficult for them to access. My hope is that the addition of computers in the classroom will help to unlock the potential for incredible academic success that I believe each of my students are capable of achieving.
