I teach 5th grade Math in the city of Detroit. It is important to me that my students have everything they need when they enter my classroom. To ensure all their needs are covered before they walk through the door, I save up and purchase supplies over the summer.
Pencils wear down, markers run dry, and notebooks fill up with notes.
We use these items on a daily basis and the cost for replacement adds up quickly. These materials will help me prepare my students for school. They don't need to worry about not having the tools to succeed because they will already be here for them.
