Our urban school is in a high poverty area and serves many low income families and students who are English language learners. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and 85% of them qualify for free/reduced price school lunch. My energetic, diverse class of Kindergarteners represent a plethora of cultures and linguistic backgrounds. My students are: Latino, Arabic, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, African American, Russian, mixed heritages- Korean/Caucasian, Filipino/Cambodian, and Filipino/Latino.
