I am a District 75 middle school teacher to an awesome group of students in a Title I low-income school in the Bronx, New York.
The students in my school have a wide range of identified needs such as learning delays, developmental delays, emotional disturbances, autism, and physical impairments, but without these beautiful differences, my class would not be as special as it is.
Most of them are also English language learners. Our students with diverse abilities have the ability to thrive to their best potential with supports in an equity-driven environment.
As a devoted educator, it is my responsibility to ensure that all students are given equal opportunities despite their disabilities, to achieve their goals and aspirations. My goal is to create a welcoming and safe environment for my students to learn and grow during their time with me.
