As we read through the different perspectives of the characters, students will learn the importance of having courage, standing up for what you believe in, and supporting others in times of need. This class set will allow each of my students to have a copy to follow along and reference while we navigate through this well written book on CD and allow my entire class to experience this story and discuss it in depth. We will be discussing the book in guided literature circle discussions and activities, vocabulary enrichment, reading comprehension questions, and writing assignments that will give the students a richer appreciation for reading and learning. I chose this novel to build character traits within my students to give them a better understanding of themselves and an acceptance and tolerance of others’ differences. Because of Mr. Terupt will help teach my students many important life lessons as they turn through the pages.
With your help, I can bring books to life in my classroom! As a teacher, I strive to bridge the reading gap for my students and enhance their enjoyment of reading. I want my students to be lifelong readers. These books will be shared with my students for years to come.
