To support my Transitional Kindergarten students, I am seeking funding for painting materials (an art easel, paintbrushes, and paint cups) that will facilitate the implementation of art into all aspects of the curriculum and learning. Transitional Kindergarten is a year that not only focuses on foundational literacy and mathematics skills, but engages students in learning experiences that promote social-emotional development, creativity, and hands-on learning. Painting is a creative, hands-on activity that can be incorporated into all subjects and has many benefits for little learners. Painting allows children an educational opportunity that is fun and exciting. It aids children in developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Painting can help children learn about sizes, shapes, patterns, designs, and color mixing. It can provide students an opportunity to identify and describe different emotions, understand the world around them, and bond with their peers. Overall, incorporating art and painting into the Transitional Kindergarten learning environment will positively influence a student's development and creativity.
