I have the very unique and exciting opportunity to work with students with exceptional abilities. At Two Rivers, we are committed to including students with disabilities in the general education environment to provide them with the richest school experience possible. My job is to support not only these students, but their peers and teachers as well. This adventure into full inclusion presents many challenges, but these are eclipsed by the benefits that it affords students. Students with disabilities are given the chance to have meaningful interactions with their typical peers while receiving the educational support that they need, and typical students have the opportunity to increase their understanding of diversity while benefiting from specialized academic support. This culture of inclusion helps ALL students learn and grow into more accepting people and prepares them for life in an inclusive society.
