For 1st graders, math is often very abstract. Having computers will help my students develop a strong number sense and for them to gain a solid foundation in basic math such as counting, addition, subtraction, fractions, telling time, organizing data into graphs, and most importantly being able to solve real world math problems, my students need lots of instructional examples and practices from engaging sources such as math apps and programs. Being able to also learn about math through computer math apps and practice those kills at school, will encourage and motivate them to learn such an important subject of mathematics. While my students unfortunately don't have access to technology nor wifi at home, having access to it at school can benefit them by building our math fluency, and building more complex math ideas. Join me and be part of our school community!
