An important part of early childhood education is play. Through play, young children are able to build on their oral language and literacy development in an authentic and meaningful ways. Also through play, children are building on their social emotional skills that will benefit them as they progress through school.
With these materials, my students will be better able to play and explore in the dramatic play center. These new materials will be used every day and thoroughly enjoyed by my TK students for years to come. The new couch will provide a gathering space for friends to come together and collaborate. The cash register will introduce beginning concepts of money and service. The highchair will aide in make believe play. The vet and doctor set are going to help start a dialogue about community workers and their services.
Most of all, these materials will help to create a community of learners and collaborative explorers. Please help make our classroom a home!
