My students are a rambunctious group of 5 year olds new to school. They are eager to learn and need to be constantly on the move. They are like sponges and soak up new information at a very rapid pace. I co-teach and we share the curriculum responsibilities. The students are constantly on the move whether singing and dancing to sight word songs or learning sounds to and drawing the shapes to the letters of the alphabet. At this age they need to have the freedom to explore, but should be giving limited and guided choices while learning how to be independent. iPads provide them the ability to learn a variety of skills while learning to work independently. Sadly, we no longer have the use of iPads and are looking forward to acquiring our very own set!
