Currently our class has 25 third grade students. We are one of 5 third grade classes at our elementary school. It is a very diverse group of students from all sorts of backgrounds. For many students English is not their first language--there are upwards of 4 different languages spoken across the students' homes. Additionally, our school's third grade Sheltered English Immersion class joins our class twice a week for social studies and science lessons. But despite our differences we are all working hard to take ownership of our education. Our motto is to be positive, be aware, be kind, and get excited! Every morning we sing a song to remind us that we are mighty scholars on our way to college, and to never stop working towards our goals.
