The use of technology is an everyday occurrence in my classroom. During both reading and math, students participate in a variety of learning centers. Each day one of our centers is the technology station. During math, students use Chromebooks to play math games that help them develop essential skills. During reading, students use the Chromebooks to listen to and read books that interest and engage them. Currently, I only have 4 pairs of headphones for my entire class. This makes it difficult for students to stay focused on their academic tasks. They hear each others' computers and become distracted from their work.
Your donation will not only improve my students' focus, but ultimately promote their academic achievement. In addition to daily, computer-based learning, I use the Chromebooks for monthly assessments that determine the specific math and reading instruction each student will receive. This differentiated instruction is vital to the academic accomplishments of every student in my class. Currently, I have only enough headphones for my students who require them in their Individualized Education Plan. However, even my students who do not have an IEP, require the basic tools that will help them to maintain their focus and achieve academic success.
