These materials will help the classroom have different seating spots than just tables and chairs, and will give students opportunities to spread out in the classroom to do their best focusing during independent and/or group work.
Students learn best when they are in a comfortable environment that feels calm and safe. This may be in a comfy chair, on a carpet, bench, or otherwise. In project based learning, students often split up into small groups, and these different spaces will provide options for these experiences.
Students also appreciate structure. Organization will help students have a space for keeping work and materials in a predictable space.
