By providing flexible seating options within my classroom, I am allowing my students to explore the freedom of making their own decisions through seating. They feel more comfortable learning when they are able to take control over their choices. We are constantly moving around the room to engage in different stations in both math and language arts. My floor is tile, very cold making them just want to sit at their desk instead of moving around on the floor. Being able to use floor sofas, balance balls, and wobble chairs my student's stations will flow more effectively.
To have more options of seating within my classroom, would make a huge difference on students' ability to focus and complete tasks. I see an incredible difference between desk work engagement and flexible seating engagement. We can't wait to spend our days engaging in group tasks all over our classroom as opposed to only in our desks.
