As a first year teacher teaching a brand new subject in our district, I am determined to give students an opportunity they will always remember. Students will be taught various life skills including, cultural sensitivity, community enhancement and self discovery and growth. Our classroom including collaborative/flexible seating will be an exceptional time and place to introduce and develop these life skills while they are comfortable in their own "spot".
With the flexible seating furniture and design, students will be excited about the new classroom environment, rewarded with a seat they choose, and inspired to make changes within themselves and our community!
Throughout the year, students may be required to earn their spot in their favorite chair and some seats will be designated for specific projects or jobs within the classroom. The areas of seating will provide a feeling of ownership, student collaboration and offer the greatest opportunity for student success.
