Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, young and active students do as well! They need more flexible/comfortable seating options to enhance student engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable.
Some of the seating options that will be provided with this project are cushions, a Wobble Chair, a Stamina Fitness Cycle for under a desk, and a Neomove Collaboration Desk. These and the other items will allow my students to personally choose what will be best for their own learning.
All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably or move around while they are learning, depending on what will work best for each of them. I can lower one of my tables for kneeling or using a cushion, but these other items will extend choices far beyond that.
This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating, across ALL SUBJECT AREAS!
