This project is in hopes of getting 3 bookshelves to help around the classroom. Having quality bookshelves around the classroom are very important. Bookshelves provide a sturdy surface for lunchboxes, math manipulatives, paper and other materials that students use each and every day.
Currently our poor quality bookshelves are not withstanding the materials we need around my classroom and quality bookshelves could really change that! We need three sturdy, unbroken bookshelves to help hold materials and maintain classroom items throughout the school year.
These bookshelves will be used for students to be able to independently use and store items on throughout the year. One of these bookshelves will be for the different paper and writing materials that my students need. My students learn to express themselves as writers in first grade and I would really like to be able to provide them with a safe place to store their writing materials such as paper, pencils, thinking maps and more. The other two bookshelves will be used for math materials and miscellaneous materials around the classroom. I have a reading center that these bookshelves can be used to store books on. I also have a math center where my students wold be able to independently use and store math manipulatives to help them solve difficult math problems.
