My goal this year is to support my students' emotional needs and create a classroom that is nurturing, inviting, and equipped with the necessary supports to help my students cope with their stress and anxiety as they manifest throughout the day.
Flexible seating, such as Wobble Chairs, and a trampoline allows my fidgety students the movement and motor break they need as they build stamina to complete academic tasks. Social-emotional books will be used to help students build important skills such as self-love, empathy and respect. Social-emotional regulation games will provide engaging ways for students to practice self-regulation skills. Weighted animals and blankets provide the necessary sensory needs of my students and will be utilized to help calm students who become upset during the day.
