Our students and teachers represent a diverse population that we value. The mission of our school is Rigor, Relevance, Relationships - Every Classroom, Every Student, Every Day. As a first year teacher, I am committed to making this mission a reality in my classroom of second graders. In my first visit to my new room, the supplies were very limited.
We are a Title I school in an urban county of North Carolina. There is a large military base in the county with many parents deployed. 99% of our students receive free lunch. Some of our students are homeless. We have a room of donated coats, clothing, and shoes of all sizes to give students as needed.
I want to do my best to expose them to as much of the world as I can within these four walls.
