Welcome to The Art of Living, The Art of Living is a special needs classroom in New Haven Ct. It is a self-contained/ resource classroom. Currently there are 16 children in the class. The students in the class have various needs. Some children are medically fragile with, spina bifida, craniosynostosis and spastic quadriplegia. Through my classroom doors have entered many. Many with Intellectual Disabilities with significant cognitive delays, Autism and emotional and environmental difficulties. We are one. "Everyday miracles happen" in my class. It may be a reach, a smile, an utterance of a word......it happens. The awesome staff in this class persevere, stopping at nothing to assist in helping the students to reach their goals. The students are exposed to cooking, doing laundry, literature,community trips, culture, self-care,all in hopes to create independence and success.
